The current "standards" (like MXP) suck for the purposes that we
are looking for, and are badly implemented in most clients.
And yes, the client will be protected so that it will not be used by
other MUDs. It is not a general purpose MUD client, is a client for
BatMUD. We will see about making the specs public, but right now
nothing has been decided. There may not be a big need for it either,
since you will still be able to connect to BatMUD just like you
currently do with any MUDclient of your choice.

clients, like automapper or somesuch. I'd veryveryvery much hate to be
"forced" to use the client in specific situations, if it implements something
which isn't doable otherwise.
