Granted there are new players on a daily basis, as solarhawk has said.
However, even though a (small) percentage of them stays, at least for a while,
the general decline of the playerbase cannot be disputed. There are only
around 50 'officially' unidle players during nighttime. That really contrasts
with the 200 or so we used to have some time back. As for my previous comment
about 450+ players during peak times, IF i was in error, as Gore said, it was
only by max 50 players. There were 400+ before.
