Im quite certain that 80% of the players (perhaps even more) who donate do it
for the tps and so they can "rock" more. If you make it so that a player with
1200tps looks exactly like someone with 0 tps then I'll bet a shit load of
those people will not donate. There goes all that neat new hardware, there
goes sponsored mud cons, the batclient development, continued promotion of the
game . . . there goes a lotta things. Imho, this game is FREE. And you can
play it fine. If you wanna become a nolifer and spend 16hrs a day here then
you can pony up and spend 200 bucks (hell thats only like 5 euros!) on a
donation. Even a small donation like that will get you 2 full boons and then
you can "rock" like Andthi says in his post. Personally I think a lot of
boons don't rock enuff. Some are quite simply useless (cold resist? who the
fuck takes that...semantic augmentation?? gimme a break!).
Imho you should stop whining about boons. It has always been that way in a
free game and it will always be that way...the game needs some way to raise
cash cause the # of players who will donate out of their free and generous
heart is pathetically small...in fact mudder's seem to have the blackest
hearts of most of humanity as you can see by the fact that all the highbies
here raid castles and are pirates.
