i think it's a bad idea, and it's very hard to say what will all happen, it
just reeks of possibilities to abuse multiple characters.
i'm not sure i understand why it's considered at all, if you want to start
over as a new character, just rebirth or suicide. if you want a new guild, go
reinc. but what good is it supposed to be if you can switch from barbarian to
mage instantly? i see how that would make partying easier for some eq in
american times of course..
i think that enabling multiple characters would make the game more boring
also. you play some guild, reinc is expensive, so you try to avoid it, so you
probably won't end up having 'seen' all. you play a tarm for half a year or
so, then it's fun again to be offtank.. you miss doing eq? reinc to mage..
something like that. but if you have aseveral characters you will probably end
up having your main guy who rocks etc, and another character that you use to
reinc a lot and check out all guilds etc (how many multiple characters are we
talking about anyways?) it will be like having your character on that 'test
bat' that was open for a while.. you go out there, make some weird reincs, try
stuff but it's not serious at all, you don't really care if you reinc again
with high tax and eat up your totals because your main char is over there.. so
basically you explore the mud's possibilities without being afraid to mess
things up, which will be fun for a while but probably mess up how interesting
the whole thing is.
the nice thing is that you have only one character, i because you won't mess
around... this is just my opinion.. i think if i had a chance to have several
characters who share eq and such i wouldn't be trying to make stuff right or
paying as much attention as with just one
v
the 'v' was a typo! and apologies for all the other typoes, hard to do with
telnet
and as a sidenote: i'm really shocked that everyone just make suggestions how
to make multiple characters work.. somehow it seems as if just a little
thought is spend on the 'shall we do it' and everyone jumped straight to the
'how do we do it'
who cares? seriously, it's never occurred to me to want another character.
I've got 4 alts on wow, but that's because unless it's raid night, there's
nothing for my main character to do. there's always plenty to do on here, you
don't 'max' bat like you do wow.
