I've played WoW. Got my dwarven hunter to level 50(solo, rare thotbot usage),
and quit. Picked it up again 6 months later, got another couple levels, and
quit again. I won't pick up the lich king expansion.

Batmud...I'll play until the servers are shut down for good. I might take
breaks, but I'll always come back.

Because I kick ass at checkers. Seriously, I dominate checkers. WoW...is
checkers. Batmud is chess. Chess is a game I understand well, and lose in
half the time anyway, either because my opponent is better or because I went
with an off-the-wall strategy and it failed...but I had fun in spite of my
defeat. I get bored out of my skull after a few games of checkers, because
victory is so flipping easy.

Batmuds greatest asset is also it's greatest downfall. It's challenging.
It's different. It doesn't have those high-fangled movin' pictures.

It will never appeal to the ignorant masses.

And I never want it to. The retarded youth of WoW and Halo and Call of Duty
have no place here. Those rare few mongoloids that do manage to stumble into
our precious world realize quickly that they're in over their heads and flee
back to xbox live.

It's a double-edged sword. If we make the game easier for us...we make it
easier for them as well, and fewer fuck-tards will be discouraged. It becomes
a matter of quantity vs. quality in terms of our player base.

Granted, some would argue that we have our fair share of retards already...but
I'll take a bat-tard over a WoW-tard anyday.
