I can really understand what you are saying and get my compassion about it.
Almost all of us have been there sometime (the bottom of bats foodchain)...
But!

As in RL as in here there are always people in better and lower situation.
Mostly because of the choices and trade-offs you do. Learning to lead and/or
getting different drops of capability on your char needs much work and
sacrifices - usually means sacrificing more and more of your freetime (can
also read life!) in this vicious circle. Some poor souls do that, some value
other things more.

Still how the saying goes about the monkeys in tree... "Shit always flows
downwards"
And sadly you just need to make those huge leaps of work to get to upper
branch.
