Not that i have anything against democracy, I just think having players in
charge is a bad idea. giving ideas, yes, but not in charge. We have a proven
system of immorting and gradually giving a new wizard higher access based of
contribution (from what i understand).
Naah, we just all get levels through mudsex.

On a serious note, what's the problem with having chosen mortals have a voice
in what's gonna be done and with what priority? We don't have that many
players nor coders to waste time on stuff which michgt be fun but unimportant.
If your fellow players can voice the opinion of masses with regards to certain
things - why shouldn't they be able to influence our plans a little?
if those players are wisely chosen, they can give pretty good input for
wizards. Longer the wizard has been immortal, the longer he has been "out of
game". We've already seen the system, where couple mortals tell wizards how
things are and where it leads(if wrong player reports bug, nothing is done and
when right player does it, it gets changed). I just can't see how these 2
mortals could be bad for mud, if cleverly chosen.
I see this a good chance to improve playability and balance in game. I hope
whoever are chosen for these positions, would rather represent mortals than
drive their own agendas.
