The reason I dislike this situation is that compasses are the only
way of getting the training points. And I really want to get my top
sailor to level 20 and that takes shitloads of training points.
Pirates get rep AND the training points so why oh why tune
compasses so that they are the only one who can do them all?

Umm, dude, as you said, you are a freaking merchant. I don't think their
function was to sink ANY ships back in the days.

Besides, Mnavy gets their rep much faster or at least easier than
pirates/navy, active pirate might gain rep faster tho, but it is a pain, trust
me, I know.

This is why I'm complaining. I'm too pretty sure that merchants were not
ment for battle and then they code training points that can be only
acquired by combat. And then they made some compasses unusable by merchant
navy. Sooo unfair, whine whine lotsa whine. I don't really care about rep. the
training points are what counts here.
