I went to the grocery store again to do my shopping. At the candy shelf I saw
this awfully cute, about three-year old kid, who was there trying to decide
the candy of his choice. He was explaining something to her mom, but I didn't
really understand what. Kids are cool. I think kids are like very tiny
politicians: You have no clue what the hell they're trying to tell you, but
they seem terribly excited about it!
Politics is kinda funny too. Supposedly experienced people are chosen by
democratic vote by a group where an average person is dumber than a
fourth-grader. Because we don't truly understand any of the important
issues that are going on in the world, we use values that we can understand.
Like in the presidential election in the United Statues, one of the big
things was whether the chosen man would be black or white. Of course we in
Europe are far more advanced and don't honestly care about the skin tone.
I can say that we in Finland are nowhere near as petty. For us it's about
gender and sexual orientation. See? We're evolved!
There's a presidential election going on in Finland at the moment, but I
want to clarify that I don't vote, because it's cold outside and the
grocery store isn't in the direction of the voting place so it would take
two separate trips. So I just want to say that I'm not looking to offend
any specific politic groups with my post. I'm looking to offend everybody.
One of the most popular candidates is a gay and it seems like many are voting
for him because of that. I don't quite understand it myself. I've also
been thinking that in the past there are have been women organizations, like
feminists, who have been rooting for women in high places. Our current
president is a woman and she's married to a man. Then it hit me! Now I
got it. I think the slogan for this presidential elections in Finland is
"We Love Men!". Women love men! Gays love men! One of the women candidates
this year was complaining that she didn't get much support from women
and their votes have likely gone to men? Why, you might ask? Because
women love men! This year with a gay candidate has been especially rough
for women candidates, because a gay men is now fighting for those voters
who are willing to give their vote to a candidate who loves men, while
in the past, this has mostly been the women's privilege.
They say that it's a Man's World and it seems like it is. It seems like
everybody now loves men and this is something that needs to be mended.
I think someone should care about women too. And I don't want to be
just words without actions. Do I love men? Hell no! I love women!
It's about time someone does!
