I want to add a couple more thoughts to my last post.

I talked with amd directly after this bullshit happened and he told me it was
my fault, because I didnt have an eternal habo tank with spider gate, or that
i wasn\'t using mind store potions. Well fair enough. I wasn\'t using mind
store potions. To some extent, I thought a wipe was a reasonably rare in that
area and I was willing to risk it. Amd told me, essentially, \"this is
batmud and you need to expect to expect some wizard is going to fuck up your
eq.\" I was particularly struck by that comment.

Is that what batmud has come to? That every eq party should expect to be
fucked up by the admin?

Lets try to look at this from the opposite perspective. Say you wizards are
busy coding some really cool feature for the game, and have been working on
this code for some 6 or 7 hours and you are really excited at getting in in
the game because its going to be really cool. Then suddenly some MORTAL
deletes your code, and a few other wizard\'s code, not by accident, but
entirely on purpose, because he was having a bad day, or was just bored and
wanted to stir things up in the wizard community. Think about how that would
affect your impetus to do more coding. Think about how it would affect your
desire to log in this game.

Sure, maybe those 6 or so hrs arent much, if you\'re one of the wizards who
spend 18 hrs here. But some \"wizards\" cant spend that much time.
Some people still want to enjoy playing here (despite the numerous, now
seemingly way better options).

Batmud is quite hard already. We don\'t need asshole wizards getting their
kicks by fucking up the players. There was a time when the admins job was to
make the game better, not worse.

The funny thing is that all the lower lvl wizards really wanted to help with
the problem, and that they saw it as a problem, but couldnt do anything, while
the higher lvl ones failed to see any problem and were basically like
\"fuck you, stop whining.\"

Once again, to address your concerns.
a) noone is particularly watching for ongoing eq parties while they start the
events.
b) since we've fixed events auto-starting, they start automatically and yet
again event controller doesn't check for any ongoing eq parties.
c) Lately, everyone seems to think that if an event is ran, it's targetted at
him specifically and is literally to fuck his eq party up. - No, not really.
Once again, see point a) - majority of people do not check if any eq parties
are ongoing, cuz we can have quite many, and checking all eq areas before
running an event is not an option.

While I agree with you that we have too many events that aren't beneficial,
we're working on it (or I am trying to anyway) to create more beneficial
events as well, to balance out the fuck-you-up ones. But once again, life
isn't a cookie, and events are here to be ran. If you think that we're
deliberately fucking your parties up, you have paranoia, take some prosac :)
