Your analysis is utterly useless in preventing this type of tragedy in the
future. You have essentially said there is nothing that can be done. Good job,
your suggestion to 'give up' we can't stop these people should be of real
comfort to the families of the victims and anyone affected by this act. Bravo.
And being called "big eared" is not the same as being racially discriminated
against, you're a naive person. And there have not been millions of South
korean Immigrants growing up in the south, that is the whole point.
Additionally, the best cure for this is personal responsibility, if something
like this happens to you, do not expect the police to save you, you need to
take action for yourself, like those on United 93 when they said "let's roll",
otherwise you are the victim. Better to die doing something than die lined up
on a wall waiting while the killer reloads and continues executing others.
How you got 'give up' from 'millions have gone through the system hunky dory'
is beyond me, as is how you took a rant regarding the OVERreactions (not the
sensible reactions, which hopefully will include not selling guns to
noncitizens) that the country will go through over this.
And no, Nazrix, having big ears is nothing at all like being a Korean. A most
astute observation. However, the fact that you assume the south is still a
bunch of ignorant racists is a bit pompous of you. How alone was this kid on
campus? http://www.ksa.org.vt.edu/. Theres about 30 students/adults in the
picture. Oh..here's another quick batch of numbers for you, courtesy of the
census. National % of whites: 80.2%. Virginia % of whites: 73.6%. National %
of asians: 4.3%. Virginia % of asians: 4.6%.
Yes, I know Asian covers a broad stroke of cultures, but it includes Korean,
and that's the most defined the census had for me.
This is not a race issue. This was a kid with emotional problems that chose
the stupid way to solve things, and I stand by my 'Fuck You' to anyone who
sympatizes or makes excuses for him.
Oh, do me a favor and quote the line I wrote regarding what the students
should have done. I've reread that post a dozen times..and I just don't see
where I mentioned anything at all that could even remotely be construed as
directives on how the students should have acted. Maybe being naive is why I
can't see that. But I'll take being naive over being a holier-than-thou
jackass who digs so hard for an argument that he has to make shit up.

To my understanding of Nazrixs article it was not sympathising one, to
understand and reason does NOT equal to sympathize, it is to perceive what
happened and why, which in the end will possibly bring solution to prevent
these kind of tragedies from happening again. This is the reason why Nazrix
must have made a conclusion that you gave up, you just demonize and do not try
to understand reasoning (however messed up that might be).

However, this kid seems to have been fucked up earlier on and to my eyes it
does not seem to be racial issue. These kind of people are all around us, all
of us have undoubtedly seen atleast one if not many during our school days. To
think of it, most likely many mudders are to some extent like these.

And no, not everyone, not even the most choose the path this one did. This all
boils down in my mind to the question, IF it was not that easy to acquire
weapon would he have done it? The ease for acquiring weapon is a major
contributor to this tragedy.

So I should accept your shitty census data that generalizes the entire state
of Virginia to apply to Blacksburg, and furthermore, further believe somehow
it's definitive proof about the Korean population there? No, sorry your
statistics can NOT be used in that way. Take a research methodologies class,
you can't take general data and 'assume' so many things down to a very micro
level, that's sloppy.

And I said racism is generally more pervasive than discrimination to those who
"suffer from "being big eared". When you turn in a resume you don't get
discriminated for having big ears since nobody knows, but if you have a
non-white name you may face such discrimination. You're an idiot, and what
possible stereotypes does a person with big ears face?

Further, who is making excuses? I'm analyzing a "cause & effect" relationship.
Which is necessary in preventing this, if the cause cannot be found or fixed,
one of the few logical reactions is to take personal responsibility and
minimize the damage while the event is in progress, such as being prepared to
fight a terrorist like this rather than accept his orders to die. I won't
spend more time arguing this as you are obviously a fanatic and a useless
policy analyst.

\"suffer from \"being big eared\". When you turn in a resume you don\'t get

Blacksburg white population: 84.4% Blacksburg asian population: 7.8%. More
\'shitty\' census bureau numbers. Again, if anyone can find the specific
Korean numbers, please do, but as it stands, these are the best that I can
find.
I will continue to say this isn\'t a race issue. I will continue believing that
people who call it one are liberal minded pansies who are making excuses for
some kid who commited an evil act. You seem to take my lashing out at those
who are calling it a race issue personally. That\'s your issue, not mine.
And I\'m over joyed that you\'ve chosen to drop the issue. You continue to pull
erroneous assumptions from what I\'ve written. If that\'s your methodology for
problem solving, then I\'m glad you\'re not on the team that\'s going to work
on fixing this.
Oh, when I turn in a resume, I do have discrimination to worry about. It\'s
called Affirmative Action. I\'m white, so I\'m inferior to anyone with equal
qualifications of a different race. Couple that with a lifetime of teasing for
looking different, and yeah...I\'m secure in saying I understand the emotional
duress this kid was going through and I\'m perfectly comfortable saying he
fucked up. I worked through my issues, he should have worked through his.
Again...fuck him. You want a fix to this? You want this to never, ever happen
again? Don\'t look to me or my rants for the solution. It was never written
nor implied, and I\'m sorry if i disappointed anyone for not having the
answers. All I did was point out what won\'t fix it, and that\'s sympatizing
for the shooter and turning this to a race issue.
