After having being disintegrated for the third in a month, Khensu
thought he'd had enough of exploring. He sat naked on the altar
of all Gods in Arelium, not giving a damn if his hairy arse
offended some of the on-lookers.
Suddenly, a thought occured to him. "I have all this information
from my journeys, why not share it with the world? Yes! I'll
hand out maps, warn of hideous monsters and reveal secret
doorways!"
He lay down on his back on the altar and pondered. "Who would
need such information? Certainly those nuns doing their endless
tasks... yes, but, hehe, Mr. G would not approve of that."
He picked his nose and thought more. "The people hunting the
hiding mage would need this information! Yes, but what havoc
it would cause if _everyone_ knew where he was?"
"Hmm, how about the average warrior wanting information on an
unknown monster. No. I have no time to search my tomes based on
vague descriptions... well, I could do it if the description
was very accurate."
Desperate, he came up with one last idea: "Ah! All rebirthers,
heck even newbies, could use my maps once they're lost! ...except
how will they ever learn the ways of the world if everything is
handed to them pre-chewed?"
"Damn! No matter what I do, someone will always be discontent.",
Khensu sighed, remembering old Mr. Toomey who had bitterly gone
into exile after closing down his public libraries.
"Maybe I'll just... YES! That's it! I'll make a living out of
this! Well, not a living but at least a respectable institution!"
Khensu jumped up from the altar, startling a few of the idling
zombies nearby, and ran towards the ferries to Desolathya. Of
course, he forgot everything by the time he arrived to his Lost
Souls in the gardens of X... but not before running into a humble
templar, known as Nosunrise, and telling him of his plans.
And thus Khensu went back to his Errands and Nosunrise, a known
explorer too, opened his own "BatMUD Information Shoppe" a week
later in a secluded corner of another dimension:
