Okay, looks like things are pretty much where I want them. This autumn's
event, where you add people to your village, let them build up supplies for
you, complete daily and weekly tasks for them, and defend them from bandit
raids, is now up and running at full strength. Details can be found in the
event room, south of Arelium, southwest of the Farmhouse.
This Event will run for this week and two more, ending Sunday November 14.
It's running a little longer this time because getting your village up to
maximum takes some prep work.
Prizes cost 1000 then 2000 then 3000 then 4000 stockpile, but the first prize
is _always_ your village interface, so you can get 3 pieces of eq if you get
to 10,000 total stockpile. If you run a maxxed-out village and do everything
reasonable every single week, that's about 3000 stockpile each week, plus
whatever you already have. It is not possible to get 15,000 stockpile and get
4 eq items, so plan ahead and make sure you get your village to a higher tier
and stay on top of quests until you know you'll hit your chosen goal.
So yes, you have to get your village interface first and yes, that means
villages are permanent - including their associated quests. Once the Event
ends, they'll stop giving you Event points of course, but you'll be able to
spend stockpile in other ways, such as asking your village to mine for you,
pick plants for you, or bait a bandit raid for you in case you want the holz
or spite marks. And you can continue to contribute comfort items or swap out
villagers - but you will not get conscription orders nearly as often, so,
maybe plan ahead and chest some backup villagers. Oh, also after the Event
ends, bandit raids will no longer be automatic and your village will no longer
be damaged. They'll become "check up on them if you feel like it" optional
tasks.
