I posted some time ago a request that wizards would make informs on things
that are about to happen and things that happen.
Blasterr just posted that people were whining on channels instead of posting
bug reports. Now, I can't but help wonder whether if the wizard who originally
put the esiris quests in game had posted an inform that explained how it was
supposed to work (like it's supposed to save over reinc??) there wouldn't have
been so many aholes whining and alot more aholes posting bug reports.
Maybe?

Seems like using your own brain is overrated. Think of the happy muddere who
got a couple of TPs after just asking if the quests are supposed to work like
that. Maybe next time you'll actually utilise that gray lump inside your skull
before whining some more.

Expecting mortals to know the difference between a purposely coded feature
(e.g. this quest will not save over your reinc) v. a bug (e.g. this quest was
SUPPOSED to save over your reinc but didn't) without any kind of information
about how it is supposed to work is ridiculous...

That being said, from now on if i encounter some "feature" which in my opinion
should work differently i will report it as a bug and let it clog the
pipelines for the real bugs as that seems to be what you want

Ffs, I'm not asking you to report everything as bugs, just open your fucking
mouth and ask. It's not that hard. Really.

Oh ffs.. the damn things saved over reincs for several months then it suddenly
stopped. hmm I wonder if that could be a bug, but since I'm too retarded to
read news I'll assume it's a feature and whine about it.

Incidently, the last quest will never be put in so who gives a fuck if the
quests save or not?

I must comment on the childish way that Blasterr has handled this by flaming
players.

I know I don't speak for everybody but I also know that I'm not alone when I
say that it was made clear to players that E'siris quests were not supposed to
save over reinc. That it was not a bug. It was discussed on channels. Some
wiz(zes) chimed in. It was clear.

e.g. Personally, I reinced in September. I knew well before I reinced that my
E'siris quests would not save (and they did not less than four months after
implementation), and I decided not to redo them for this "short term" reinc.
No whining, no complaints, it simply affected my decision-making process.

Given the extremely limited utility of the quests and the potentially high
cost of the Aurelium quest, the value of redoing them each reinc simple wasn't
there for frequent reincers. So, some people complained about them not saving
over reinc (though honestly, I haven't noticed any such complaints in months).

Jump forward to present day, and Blasterr announces that he has fixed the
E'siris quests so they save over reinc. This should be a joyous affair for
everyone. Clearly, it's an uptune for anyone who uses E'siris. Unfortunately,
Blasterr chooses to taint his good news and ensure that his hard work will go
underappreciated by saying at the end of his announcement "... instead of
whining on the channels."

To those of us who made inquiries public AND PRIVATE about E'siris quests
saving over reinc, that was just plain rude. Unfortunately, it was also the
most polite thing that Blasterr has managed to say in this thread. And more
unfortunately, Draltih has now chimed with another whiney wizard post.

Grow up boys. The view is much better from the high road. If you don't want
players to whine, then you should manage to refrain from doing so yourselves.
If you honestly want players to report bugs, then you shouldn't be rude to
players when you follow-up on bugs, or give reasons which translate to "I'm
too lazy to fix that".

a) I fixed it
b) Who ever told you they didn't or shouldn't save, is a moron
c) Quests never stopped being saved, the crests however started getting
"removed" on reinc
d) My post was not a whine, just my opinion of how people seem to think around
here.
e) This is the bs news group, expect BULLSHIT on it.

Okay, it's bs...so I'll leave it there, yeah it's a dead horse and overly
beaten...but, I just MUST point out this news post from last september in
which it was mentioned that esiris quests don't save, and blasterr replied to
it and implied that the mortal was asking for suffeli for asking that the
quests get to save...

I haven't done the quests, but...i do remember for a while after they were
implemented, there was a lot of public inquiry/debate as to whether they were
saveable over reinc. some people said yes, some said no. iirc, a wiz stepped
in and said something to the effect that "they work as intended" or
whatever...
