I think Bahumat is using a rather bad example to illustrate the point. The
newbie post transport system will take a player of sufficient youth straight
to where it needs to be for lq 11. Yes, it's almost impossible to get there
alone by walking, but that's not a problem for actual newbies, and anyone over
3d old knows that navs exist and are bribeable. Some of the older quests have
iffy feedback and syntax *coughdoriancough*, and so might be smoothed out a
bit. Again however, there is a rather big problem. Frankly, only about 2% of
or playerbase (if that) does quests for fun. I've been laughed at for doing
quests below lq 40 (by the same people who think that merchanting is a good
way to get powerful, go figure). So who the heck wants to go through an
ancient wizzes uncommented code for three hours to make maybe 20 people
happier? The nun recode was quite kickass (dig up the old nunguild if you
don't believe me), but there aren't as a matter of fact all that many Nuns
around. The chance of even a lethal bug being fixed is inversely proportional
to it's age added to the inactive status of it's coder/maintainer. Go down the
well in Doobie's twelve hours after boot if you don't believe me.
