One thing that bothers me in this game, is that no matter how much I play, do
eq, gain exp, rebirth, gain exp again, get to level 100 + 500m exp, I have 0%
chance of getting certain items. Items that used to be in game but were
removed from the mob because of balance or the mob was made unkillable
(burgle?!). If those items were out of balance, then remove them from the
game entirely or tune the stats down. For example, I'll never get a pr Tyra
shield, an oogga axe, any burgle eq, and any decent tiger eq. {Seperate rant:
Why tiger eq? Well because the mob is checked at 5am my time and dead within 1
hr of that. Thats some few hours before I normally get up. Also now that
those tiger gms have eq like 1/2 weeks, and decent eq 1/6 months, its even
harder for an upcoming player, which I think myself to be at least a little.}
Please note that although those with these items will say boohoo faggy nomi is
crying, I'm not whining. I am just stating the obvious, that this course of
action makes little sense. Also notice the group this was posted to. Peace. O

Actually those items are all gettable as long as 2 criteria holds true:
someone has them and you are willing/able to rob them.

But in all seriousness, from a fairness point of view it does suck. But I
like to think of at least in part, as one of the benefits of playing a long
long time. Eventually, maybe even some of the items you have now will be
"ungettable"

Actually, I kind of agree with you. We have been very strict
on not inflating the stats of new items, unlike in many other
games where every new area has a bunch of gear that is even
better than the last batch. In some cases, an ancient area
(which may even be closed today) has had the best gear for a
specific slot or class. This naturally does distort the game
in favor of people who once had the chance to get these items.

Burgle eq is gettable. Burgle is killable, but it's very very
hard. On the plusside, rumour has it that his gear is even
better than what it once was. And I believe that, unfortunately,
is the trend that we will have to accept in the future too. That
there needs to be a tiny inflation on the level of power of
items, both to attract players to new areas, but also to ensure
that the game remains fair and competitive for oldtimers and
new addicts alike.

So while I don't think we will remove those ancient items (they
do have a historic value), we should work more on making
"replacements" on some other area.

This game has always encouraged abuse. In some cases the items that has been
made by abusing has been removed and in some cases those have been left in
game. Not to mention some certain big frog and 18 man parties and giving half
freely those decent items to them. Or in some other cases that are very well
known, like certain vault area with top end stuff in it and it was doable with
2 man.

So, if you see a spot to abuse something, it's highly encouraged to get
something to you, that you would hardly get by normal means. And yes, those
freaking monsters that are farmed and checked at boot and wasted if they have
right gear and utterly stupid.
