why do people get to keep their eq through reinc? make it go poof! the idea of
reinc comes from the religions in this world who have reincarnation ( usually
based on karma, ie, your actions in this life determine the startingpoint in
the next one, sort of similar to here, ie, you get to keep exp etc). None of
them have the ability to keep eq through your passage from this life to the
next one. It used to be so in batmud too, so why the fuck was it changed?

What kind of generation of suffelisucking wimps are you trying to breed? The
gamers of today have everything handed to them on crystal plates, batmud used
to be a hardcore game, it was the wild west, pkilling was abundant, eqloss
happened easily. You had to be smart and know how to play and behave to be
able to succeed in here.

Now if you get pkilled more than twice, you can get an arch to change your
diapers, give you a new lollipop and banish the evil wrongdoer. If you lose
your eq, chances are that it will be deemed to be due to a bug and you will
get your stuff back.

i bet soon summon will be made to ask for consent and before starting to kill
another player, you will probably have to fill an application to the
administration to get your kill command altered to accept players as a viable
target.

Instancing is coming to make sure that the most heated areas can be done
equally for all, so no need to fight about this mob or that vault, everyone
can have their own.

don't give me flowers and lollipops, give me BLOODY AXES! SPRAYING BLOOD!
ENTRAILS FLYING! HEATED WARFARE BETWEEN PLAYERS! ETERNAL HATE AND ANGER
BETWEEN MANKIND! .. you fucking merchants of suffeli...

I just wanted to post that I completly agree with glaurung, through reinc
saving eq's, automatically closing chests, wielded/worn/inventory stuff saving
over boot on you.. Thats bullshit, total BULLSHIT! what a fuck we need these
features for? since the game hardly never crashes anymore no-one loses their
eq ...price for being handless moron should be hard IE. you leave your chests
open over the boot, all you deserve is losing your stuff

And this "area-cloning" must be stupidiest idea ever, it might work on WoW
where there is like 2142523525235 players, but in BatMUD there is hardly 300
players online it is just not neede, goddamn lights on now =p

Thank you =)

I agree with the comments about the area-cloning.
The idea is so stupid infact, I'm already fustrated even thinking
about how retarded it is. So I really can't say more about it =)

May I express an opinion of a newbie on this subject? (Yeah, I know, newbies
should shut up and are not allowed to express opinions. Who cares?)

On keeping worn eq ober boot: IMO it was a quite welcomed change. Chests are
really small and really expensive and it would have been completely hopeless
for me to collect enough money to store the about 15 items I am wearing. I
mean, it's almost completely hopeless even *with* this eq, not to talk about
if I had to do it without any eq whatsoever! IOW, without this feature getting
to the point where you can have and keep a decent eq set is really, really
hard for a newbie. I don't understand why the game should be so hard for
newbies. Without newbies the game would soon become the playing ground for a
couple of dozens of highbies and that's it. Sure, some highbies wouldn't mind,
but you should think about whether the administrators would have any further
motivation to keep the game running after only a couple of dozens of players
are playing it.

As for reincing: I agree. It seems way too easy. I once knew some player who
reinced about 10 times in two weeks (I'm absolutely not exaggerating here). It
felt just ridiculous! I don't understand why it has to be so easy. If you have
huge amounts of reinc exp, you can trivially master some guild you have never
been a member before with no effort whatsoever. It doesn't feel logical nor
fair. (The leadership of the tarmaguild issue is quite telling.) Newbies who
try to advance in a guild for the first time do a lot of hard work to do so,
and they really learn effectively how things learned from that guild work.
Some not-so-newbie with tens of millions of exp can just reinc and rush
without any effort through all the guild levels, and that doesn't seem to make
any sense. So I agree that reincing should have a much higher penalty than it
does. Reincing should be something you do because you *really* want to do it.
Perhaps reincing should be almost like rebirth. After all, that would make
sense.

Some guilds have thing called reputation.
You collect it trough the time you are in the guild and debending about the
guild, it is either critical for thriving in that guild or simply +dicksize.
Also it is a jungle out there how guilds handle reputation loosing.

Those highbies that reinced with hundredss or even thousands of miljons of
experience may reinced to a guild that handless its reputation loosing
lightly, or has none of it, race past others to top of the food chain if they
have once got a good reputation status in the guild.

Those same highbies would be simply exp filled but effectively worse (in
guild sense) in guilds where you loose reputation heavily, or even all of it,
if you reinc away from them, no mater how much you did have it. While this is
nice way to keep highbies from racing past inside the guild, it also makes
sure you will not try some other reinc as reputation might be your only
highbie part in your character.

And the are those guilds that do not have reputation system at all. There
you can just reinc to top of the chain.

Reincin itself is fair. It does not make difference how long you have played
that reinc or the game, the exp and money loosing is same to everyone.
The problem is how the game handles, or more preciely does not, the different
reputation loosing between guilds. Your time in some guilds is more precious
than in others, and there has been no word from the wizards that something
would be done to it nor that it is even considered as a problem.

A :-D hits you.
