OK, I've pointed this same thing out countless times before against stupid
gamedesign: It's unbelievacly annoying that games have most of it's stuff
taken from real life (axes, trees, lakes, castles, animals, swords, seas,
food, drinks, mountains, houses, campfires, money, hammers, forests and many
more which simple designer can point his finger at and yell 'look, ma, a
bird!') but then they always get lazy, give feeble excuses to the lines of
"gotta balance the game", "it's only a game, a fiction" then go and, oh let's
say remove head from some player race. If you're doing a goddamn fiction game
then what's the point of axes, trees, lakes, castles, animals, swords, seas,
food, drinks, mountains, houses, campfires, money, hammers, forests?? It's a
fiction! Do whatever you can come up to and don't get lazy on one account and
"steal" ideas from reality, then shape up and ponder whether it's sensible to
have swords hit once, twice, break, made of metal. When it's a game and a fiction
it could be a "sdfjui" which player can use to "vxbjhguy" monsters which then
"hsidfub" and players gets "hdfgbuy" from it! woohoo! Let's make fiction!
either you accept that some races are overwhelmingly good at fighting and
others are divine at spellcasting and make it so that a giant can crush a
leech only by stepping on it, or, you bend over, call giants "ndifgubhiu" and
leeches "jgubkuu" because that'd be more correct than what they are now. And
stop calling your headless bullmans with ghostly horns levitating where once
was a head "minotaurs". those aren't minotaurs, you can draw all the nice
pictures you want, describe them as eloquently as you want but without head
they're some odd mutation you made "because you had to balance the game".
well, balance this! *gives the finger* ...or make it possible for minotaurs to
get their horns removed with surgery giving back that headslot.
