Seriously, is this all really needed? Why do we need *both* checks to actually
quit now?
Could the bloody "real" thing be removed? As it is, you can't quit with eq on
anyway, so why do we need another check to quit?
and another thing, why not let us quit with eq in out inventory, just nothing
worn. items in inventory are not saved anyway.
As it is, this thing must be the dumbest "tune" in the history of batmud, and
I'm not even kidding.

Well, my suggestion was to remove quit for good, not just this
flowery you-can-quit-to-get-rid-of-bad-effects stuff. But, it
was voted down, you can still quit. Now, seriously, how often
do you really quit from the game, instead of, say, ld. I know
I pretty much never quitted as mortal, unless I was naked,
exploring, and trapped. Now, how often does that happen? Get
a clue, throw out some real ideas and stop the pointless
whine about nothing.

now first of all, this is a very limited viewpoint... i "quit" all the time...
especially with the new continent tune that doesn't let you travel with your
eq, if there are tasks that i need to do on other continents (typically
laenor) i will VERY often portal there naked, run to where i need to go and
quit to get back to startloc...

now, i don't really care i can do the "quit real" junk if i need to... but to
suggest that because YOU never used quit that means that no one does is very
egocentric

You cannot be serious that such a trivial thing as making
the quit command _less_ likely of losing your gear would
actually cause such complaints?

You guys have no idea about the amount of complaints and
whines we get from people (newbies, highbies and drunkards
alike) who have "magically lost their stuff due to a bug"
and who demand restores, only to figure out that they did
indeed quit instead of going ld with all their stuff on.

I think "quit" is needed as especially for new players it
is easy to get lost in new areas, some which may be non-
summon and having the ability to get back to a familiar
location (without having to wait for boot) enables the new
player to continue playing right away. The other option
can easily be that he/she logs off and goes to play somewhere
else.

Some of us were a little taken aback when requesting a fifteen year old
feature and hearing "I'm afraid I can't let you do that Dave. You're wearing
pants."

I DO have an idea of the amount of whines you get, so like I've said before, I
understand the change. I just wish I didn't have to be treated like someone
who couldn't keep track of his pants.

I do realise that this "tune" is good for newbies. What I do not realise, is
why there are two similiar checks, not just one.
Just keep one, lose the other, I personally do not care wich one goes, but
having both the checks is just annoying.
