PS. you can also code 'hidden' personal rapeprots, which makes it easier to
make the monster doable by new people, yet still hard to 'rape'.
I'm not sure if this was a reply to my previous rape prot inform, but I'll
still want to make a few comments:
a) In case of this particular area, the real "rape prot" is the quest itself,
which is rather challenging I dare to say. However, I really cannot imagine
how I can force each player to solve the quest by themselves, so unfortunately
it only works as a rape prot for those who cannot be dragged through the quest
by the few who have already completed it. I believe that is a common problem
with many areas, and avoiding that requires some heavy duty coding and
thinking, and at least I have no time to use all my time to think of how to
force players to solve the quests solely by themselves.
b) Yes, you can code witty and "hidden" rape prots and fancy stuff like that,
but I'm not sure how this is related to "monster being doable by new people",
since even the current "standard" prot allows new people to do the mob, only
those who do it again within the prot are affected.
c) The monster is too easy? Well, the problem, again, is that there are a few
extremely powerful players out there, and if you tune all according to them,
the rest 99% of players can't do shit

At least my monsters and their eq are
doable for a bit broader group of players, and I wish it to remain so. Of
course I could simply add more minions, levels, HP and shit to all my mobs
that get raped repeatedly, but that would be rather lame to most of the
players.
d) Yes, I wish I didn't have to add any rape prots, but until I can come up
with some extra cool idea how to do that, and until I have time to code it, I
certainly think a rape prot is a better option than to tune all the eq from my
mobs to carrots.
