Because I like writing and because Im listening to some sound music (pardon
the pun) and because the UK, I think, is quite attached to reality even though
some people think differently (Lordduran tells you 'you guys are like
disconnected from the world') Id like to say something profound. The more I
look at pictures of people that play this game and think about how Ive spent
my time playing this game, its total escapism. Which is probably totally okay
in small amounts but it worries me so that many players spend a lot of time
here. The real world cant be that bad, and if it is then get out there and
change it. Surely playing a a virtual game is no answer to your real life
problems but maybe theyre not even problems, maybe therere just something that
you need to put some time and effort into. Maybe then youll realise that the
world is worth experiencing, even if you get a rough ride.
Moss.
I pretty much agree to your sentiments(late reply, as a result of actually not
mudding a lot). I have had direct experience with the escapism aspect. It
serves a purpose though, but it shouldnt need to overtake your life. Oh well,
this is all quite obvious, but perhaps its good it gets mentioned every now
and then.

Arguablly many things people do are escapism (for example drugs, booze, movies, TV, books) to name few, but very, very few people do without some of that.
Inherently mudding is somewhere in the middle category, i.e. if you overdose you become pasty-faced nerd-vampire with little social life. It has even some positive aspects, such as some social contact with other people(!). It\'s not truly threatening as far as your health goes, but still should be done on moderate scale only :->

I\'m of the \"occassionally play seriously, most of the time infrequently and idly\" school of freezer-addicted mudders.
