Hi. Blayke here. Have some general ramblings about sac value. I remember
sac value being tuned by aarugotti something like 4 or 5 years ago to be more
dependant on the nature of the eq in question. I did some experimenting with
different eqs. Heres what i found out. Sac value on asmo ring: 3.5m. Sac
value on +pr/fire and con Tyra shield: 2.5m. Rabbits foot (from rechie) 6m.
Preserver 1.5m. reaver helm 1m. Chael, 1m. These might seem kinda random,
but the one that sticks out there are the shield and asmo ring. Also the
foot. I would like to see sac value put a lot more weight on certain skills.
And certain attributes. For instance anything that is divine pr should have
like a 10m sac val. The trya shield should be way up there too. Different
abilities should add to to the overall worth and it shouldnt be based on the
best single attribute of an item. Also dodge/parry eq should have a lot more
sac value than say, +swimming gear. I think thats how it works now.
Obviously one thing thats random is the wiz assigned sac value for certain
items. I think that coders now adays dont put much thought into the sac
value, but actually that can make an otherwise worthless item highly valued.
Take the thanatos shield for example. Many people wanted to kill it just for
that shield. So thats something that shouldnt be forgotten about when
creating new eqs. I was sad to hear the thanatos shield sac value got fucked,
since that was one of the few reasons to kill that boring ass mob. Right i
have another thing i want to say relating to eq and ill continue that in my
next post.
