Why not disable the new map until Gore has time to optimise it? I agree that
it makes the game less enjoyable; it must be a total fucker for the US players
who experience much greater lag than us Europeans. Please do something now,
even if it's just some feedback/eta/info from an admin.

While you're so sure that it's new map that generates the lag, we, who
actually try to analyze the problem don't see the direct relation. Hence, the
new map stays for now, and we keep looking.

How about disabling the new map for ONE day (or even two!) and monitor the lag
situation? If lag continues, then you have solid proof that the two are not
directly related. Otherwise, the popular consensus (for mortals anyway) is
that newmap=lag generator.

Well, let me rephrase what I said. There is no relation whatsoever between new
map and lag. If you just think logically for a moment, you'd understand that
new map can't be lagging with 100 people online and be lag-free with 250
people online.

To add more, there's once again - no relation whatsoever that shows us for now
that new map is source for the lag. And if you think that "switch maps" is 5
minutes work, you are mistaken there as well.

I have this program inside my computer called Microsoft Windows XP
Professional, and in that program they have this feature that lets you roll
back drivers, programs, and installations if you have a problem. Perhaps if
you simply roll back some of the patches/tunes/whatever, and apply them 1 at a
time for a few days if they are the cause they will be found easily. Since it
seems to be taking a few weeks to get any feedback/info/fix, it might be time
for new measures?

the problem is the server has been up all day and gets tired at night. Just
happens that it is during US night and not Fin night.
