Its not so much that no wizzes think that nomad is out of tune: everyone with
half a brain knows that. Its that, afaik, theres just not enough active
wizards around who are up to the daunting task of messing with 7 year old
code. I mean atm, basically, Shinarae is the *ONLY* lvl 200 coder whos
actually doing content for this game atm, that i am aware of.
As such, the problems of this game are really product of its own success.
Theres just not enough hi level, skilled players willing to wiz anymore. That
is generally the track of public access muds...get lvls, do all the shit you
wanna do, and then wiz maybe code some area or guild or something, and then
fade away...however with rebirth and all the additional quests and content
that his mud gives, you see players staying mortal for a very very long
time..its quite normal for players to be 5,10, hell even 15 years old now.
Imho, there should be an alternative to \"losing everything\" if
you wanna add content to the game. At least you should be able to get your
tps and such back. Or rebirth status. One big problem with remorting wizards
is that in general they have had access to inside information, making them
quite an asset to getting to secret areas and such. So perhaps access to
areas and other peoples code should be extremely limited ...it would be
interesting for there to be hardcoded some \"wizards helper\" status
for certain mortals who could perhaps design an area and have it implemented by
a wizard. A lot of the problem of implementation from what i gather, is that
wizards hate writing all the short descs and stuff. Again this raises
*LIMITED* info problems, in that player will know all the secrets of the area,
but i think if you balance that concern against the great additional content of
an area or new quest, then youll find its worth the price....

I would like add support for this idea/opinion. I have often thought of
contributing
ideas and descriptions etc for areas (and other parts of the game). However, I
quite
enjoy playing and, quite importantly, I doubt that I\'d actually be able to
make the
kind of commitment required of a wiz. Surely, even odd contributions here and
there
would still be of some use.
