Hey theres been some great things being coded in batmud and thats awesome.
However it seems like all the effort is going into coding NEW things and a few
things are being forgotten about game balance. I really think someone should
take a look at the guilds again and see how they stack up as far as tune wise
just like juggelo does with races. Why we dont have more tweaking of guilds
as opposed to just races I dont know. As example:

Who guild reaver: 24 players shown
Who guild runemages: 3 players shown

Lets just compare these two guilds:
Runemages \"main\" damage spells do around 300 damage, take 5 rounds
(no ql)
Reavers spells do 250+ damage and take 1rnd (mana only). Of coouse reavers
have area effect skills, many nice area damage spells, a spmax bosting spell
etc.

Runemages, have the quite huge negative of having to research their spells and
getting NO unique spells nor even any really effective spells at all.

This is just one example that came up as i discussed reinc ideas with a friend
of mine. There are MANY others were guilds are just totally untouched, out of
date, or just out of tune (imho knight is quite out of tune, even considering
the kill restrictions).

There needs to be closer monitoring of the guilds, better tuning done by
OBJECTIVE wizards (ie not the coder who designed the guild--You heard me shin
mr. \"reavers dont need a downtune\") etc.

As a newbie that has made some effort of trying out (=addicted to reincing)
most guild combinations in BatMud, Reavers seem currently to be a no-brainer
selection for solo exping/solo eq making.

Does this make Reavers particularly overpowered in general? Maybe, however
Reavers are not in a great demand for several other playstyles. You don\'t see
people crying out for \"REAVER FOR OFFUEXP\" on wanted channels, like they do
with stunners.

I do agree that guild balance would benefit from a review, and a neutral review
at that.

What I don\'t agree with, is that Reavers would need a serious downtune. Make
Word of Blasting and Word of Genocide 2-3 round cast time spells and they\'re

If you are going to compare two guilds at least make them the same category.
RuneMages would be compared to Mages not Reavers . Hence if Runemages are
found lacking then MAGES would be tuned not Reavers.

Reavers could be compared to Monks or Templars and then make your points. Doing
an apples to oranges comparision and saying SEE really shows nothing.
