I don't see the point here... the commision is already 1%, how much lower do
you want it? Or do you mean to actually raise it for people with lower
insider trading? Eoither way, it will just cause people to not use the
exchange (perhaps good from your point of view, but it is bad from mine)

Ok, in this situation, I don't really see your point. The way I see it, is
that there will *always* be a "best" way to work with your ore. Some people
find that doing a HUGE amalgamate, then refining the big chunk to be the best
way... but if you think about it, this really leaves you susceptible to
fumbles (putting all your eggs in one basket so to speak). Therefore is it
the best way? Depends on your point of view... but in the end, if we change
it there will just be a new best way (thus again this seems like tuning for
the hell of it). Also, I agree some stuff with amalgamate/refine doesn't make
sense from a "realistic" viewpoint alone, but this doesn't mean we should
change it. As an example, you have a 1000kg ore and a 1kg ore. You
amalgamate those 2 and you are charge the ep for amalgamate 1001kg of ore even
though almost all of the ore was in one chunk to begin with. That makes no
sense to me I admit, and little stuff like that might should be changed I
suppose. Refining might even need to be based on size of the ore too I
suppose. actually the more I think about it, this tune makes more sense to
me than any of the other changes you proposed and I might implement this one.
And finally, I really feel like, for me at least, that if you stated what you
feel the problem is then things would be more clear to me. I guess, in some
way all those
tunes makes "sense" but I don't see what it will fix. The reality of it is,
people will makes chests as long as they feel it is worth there while. Ok,
lets run a scenario here:
I tune some shit to make it MUCH harder to make chests... law of econ dictates
chest prices rise. Now you have two or 3 possibilities:
1) People say "wow merchants are making big bucks on chests" so they reinc to
merchant to "cash in"... result: more chests get made
2) People say "fuck that chests are 2 expensive, I'll make my own" and they
reinc to merchant and thus more chests are made
3) People say oh well shit, I just gotta pay the price... and some will do
that, either way it is a free market... I see tons of merchants on all the
time so someone is making money I assume or at least someone is achieving
whatever goal it is they wish to achieve as a merchant.
