I don't quite see why you guy(s) think lumberjacking should be modified.
Overall, I dont think the effect would be what you think it would be.
Although, I admit the skill might should be tuned on the grounds of
consistency alone. But my maoin point, is that the proposed lumberjack tunes
appear to be tuning for the sake of tuning... perhaps someone should clearly
state the problem... and I (or other wizards) will figure out the tune. (this
is not to say I do not value specific ideas, it is just in the case I don't
see what is wrong with ljacking, other than the "realism" aspect)
The problem is Duke that with the current lumberjacking skill you spend 75ep
no matter whether you cut down 1 or 10 logs. Given that 7+ logs aren't
challenging to find and the average log weighs around 27kg you are getting
about 190kg of raw material with an expenditure of 75 ep. Compare this to
mining where you might get 4 kg if you are really good. The resulting problem
is that it becomes trivial for a merchant to chop down 5 tons of wood in a few
hours, amalgamate the bunch and make couple of decent chests out of the lot.
Frankly, it is just too easy a way to get cheap materials into the game. I
guess the alternative solution is to eliminate 3+ log trees, but I thought my
suggestion owas a fix that provided some color to the skill and as a bonus
took away some of the pain of cutting down 1 log trees.
