I would hope Elwood would also acknowledge the high amount of lazy people
who simply join this guild and spam the channel with "spoonfeed-me-now"
questions _before_ they even attempt to do anything themselves. I mean, do
people even read any guild info, help files, bulletin boards, news, etc.?
There is a difference between sincere questions by people who are not able
to figure something out (which does happen, and those tend to be treated as
such) and the "I-just-want-to-do-this-whole-guild- and-make-crap-and-sell-it-
as-fast-as-I-can" players. I think if people are going to be "called out" for
being rude, then you honestly need to study the overall picture before you
make those kinds of judgments.
The in-fighting has not really been over "enforcing" the so-called
"Dryad's" prices (she is not the only one who agrees with having a pricing
structure.) The problem is when merchants repeatedly advertise chest/service
prices that unreasonably undercut the pricing structure others try to follow.
And now, a newer trend is players expecting Merchant services for free,
because channels are getting spammed by people offering free surgery, prots,
repairs, etc., for their belt tasks. When I respond to requests on Wanted
channel, I have been told by 12 players so far "I don't have to pay for that,
merchants do services for free now."
There has never been a problem with offering any price they want in private
transactions-I know some of you have been giving other players a false
impression that "the mean cartel doesn't even want us to give free/cheap
services to friends". Now that is either intentionally misleading people with
BS, or you really haven't listened to what has been said by others.
The basic point is, "Sell publicly at reasonable prices, sell privately at
whatever price you want." I really can't see how suggesting a scale that only
brings everyone more money in the end is causing such a hardship.
Now if the suggested pricing structure for chests & services is really
perceived to be too high, let's have some sensible discussion about it. Let's
find out if the general consensus is to reasonably lower prices, or to keep
them where they are. I would suggest everyone post their thoughts (not flames
about specific people, please) to this news group.

Szilard
well said szilard! And Dryad prices are the foundation of merchants prices
imo. if they were not , people would not refer to them as Dryad prices..!
