In an effort to add more flavor, and perhaps a bit more power, to the monk
guild. advanced martial arts techniques are being added.
These special skills are hard to find, very hard to learn, and _extremely_
hard to master. At low skill levels, the effets of these attacks will not seem
all that impressive. However, each of these techniques has a special effect,
as well as a "critical hit" effect, which may prove useful regardless of the
damage. As well, as your skill% increases, the skill's power will greatly
magnify, both in terms of raw damage as well as the chance/magnitude of
special effects and critical hits.
In addition, these new skills are made to work in combo attacks. Using a
specific list of skills in a specific order will cause them their "use" time
to either slightly or greatly decrease, further adding to the amount of damage
you can pile on in a single run.
At this time, there are three special new techniques, and as such, the number
of combos is quite limited. I'll wait while you find any bugs I missed before
adding the rest -- no point in making a big mess when a small one is easier to
clean up.
All of these new techniques rely on your mastery of already existing monk
skills, iron palm and martial arts being but two of them. Training and
practicing your monk skills will not only unlock more of these special
techniques, but also increase their power once you get them.
