The addition of this group and the the unarmed parry skills has prompted me to
post this.
I'd like to see some kind of skill that we could have that could save us from
some of the damage from the bigger hits/crits/spells that we may get hit by.
Now that unarmed parry cannot be used with a shield it would seem that very
few monks use shields (so that they can use unarmed parry).
I'm not requesting an upgrade that will turn us into tanks. But, at the moment
I can't stand in the front line in a party that takes on anything much larger
than I can just solo because a single battle round containing one big crit can
kill me.
So my proposol is to have a skill, which would probably be effected by vital
points, that would reduce some proportion of the damage received from single
large hits (or whatever).
e.g. a maximum reduction of 25-50% of any damage after the first 70-100 done
in a single hit. If this is applied after the effects of prot spells, armour,
shield and physical resist then I imagine (correct me if I'm wrong) that more
powerful players won't see as large an effect. I'm assuming that more powerful
monks (monk/templar combo etc) tend not to take such large amounts of damage
off the same hits as small monks - like me.
Such a trauma resistance skill could be easily tuned. The level at which it
begins to have an effect, the maximum reduction of damage, the effect that
skill% (including vital points) could all be adjusted. It could effect just
crits or any large amount of damage.
So what do you think? Would such a skill be a nice addition to monks without
having and unbalancing effect?
