For the Knights' guild:

It has been proven that some players are very, very patient and willing to do
far more than the minimum to advance knight ranks. This patience is about to
be rewarded. Each of the four knight paths now has an "overkill" level which
(at this time) is not displayed, but might be later. Players who hit any of
these overkill ranks will have stats added to their crest shield (which also
means they have to get the Excelsior rank). The stats will depend on the path
you have overkilled, and they do stack so you can earn more than one.

For education, you have to find and turn in an insanely high number of books.
For valor, you have to take an immense number of prisoners, including some
potent eq monsters.
For conduct, you will be required to save Arelium from harm repeatedly and
often.
And for skill, you have to use the skills in question an insane number of
times in one boot. I'd probably skip that one.

The side effects of this is that shields are now only usable by their creator
and no longer chest. Since shields without stats kind of suck, this is really
not so bad.
