First of all, I'd like to note that yes, for most part I think the
reincarnation process tune was _good_ idea. I've played with some other
obscure name in mists of time when reincarnation tax was something obscene (33
percent I seem to recall), and we still did it. But we didn't enjoy it, and
people seemed stuck into same reincs for a long time.
The more recent system was very suffeli (1 percent tax, instant reinc? come
on), but obviously the wizards also noticed it eventually. The exp regain
system has one major drawback, as observed from watching variety of people
reinc - the first few k's!
Nowadays newbies breeze to ~first full guild (5-15m exp depending on how
inflated they are) on wings of explore exp. At same time, I'm supposed to
start from 15k exp and kill small stuff for say, day or so, to get _one_ guild
to working level and then maybe resume my normal exping at reduced rate?
People haven't apparently gone for that; the 'dragging' is quite popular, as
is 'reinc leader' parties, where leader just idles in backrow with say, nomad
tank that has few hps and no skills. Finally, quite many people have given me
advice of actually just MIPing the first 1M of reinc gain exp or so to make
the process bearable.
So, in the end, what do I recommend? Instead of 15k exp, use some percentage
point of original totals as starting point; that way people can do something
meaningful, instead of (at least in my case, probably) just using some more
money on MIP or abusing friends during reinc. That'd be the 'fun' path, and at
least personally I'd reinc a lot more again if that were the case - as it is,
reincing has become quite rarity for me thanks to the new system.
