I was just thinking that is there any real reason why inventory couldn't save
as well as worn and wielded equipment saves too. I have seen inventory saving
in few another muds and I do not see any logical explanation why inventory
could not save as well. I think it should not be anything to do with resources
that Batmud has either. Just an idea that came to my mind, and I don't think
it should make chests obsolete in any way either, would just make things
easier for newbies perhaps :)

Well, one aspect that comes to mind quickly is that saving only wielded
equipment limits the number of objects being saved to a reasonable size.
Whereas, people can carry thousands of items in their inventory.

I think that bat has some mitigating factors here:
* You are useless in party when inventory is full.
* People aren't going to drop items on the ground hoping to pick them up
before next boot...
* MC Demons, or at least the threat of will prevent people from keeping
valuable items
Perhaps save all items held with 'keep' command instead?

it would also put a much bigger dent in the already suffering chest market.

In theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice, theyre not.
