I would like to propose that players have a flag they can set for the purposes
of partying. My impetus comes from times when I log on and am bombarded by
requests to party when perhaps I am only logging in to idle for a few minutes.
I believe it would be a useful and would a small convenience to people who
get asked to party a lot.

The "partying" flag I propose will have 4 states:
1) Not interested in partying.
2) Interested in Partying
3) In party, look for a change in party
4) In party. Leave me the fuck alone.

I'm sure there are tweaks that can be made to make this more useful. For
example, there might be a 5th state of simply, "already in party" that would
be set when the player is in a party and another "undefined" state for when
the user is not in a party and hasn't set an interest level. Being able to
set a default interest level would be nice, too, so that it would save
between sessions.

I would propose that this information be viewable through finger, idle, maybe
as a some sort of flag in who and whos and maybe even through it's own
command, say, "party interest player" or something not even party of the party
command structure. The information should be as available as our tell status
is now.

A counterargument to this new feature would be, "Well that put it in your
fucking tell status." Personally, I don't think it's necessarily appropriate
in tell status.

OK, rip this idea to shreds now. I know I've expounded upon a little idea
that probably doesn't even warrant this much text, but I know *I* would
appreciate this feature.

Also, you can add what type of party your looking for be in EQ or EXP.
I might suggest LFG (those of you that know what LFG is knows where I
got it from). LFG = Looking for Group it is what Everquest uses
to toggle if your wanting to group or not.

Just a suggestion.

While we have been on the topic of these classifers and tell status's
regarding parties, it would be nice if a player could set a status flag on
their character. This status could be such things as 'looking for eq party',
'looking for exp party', 'looking for any party', 'just chatting', etc, you
get the idea. Also if we could have the ability to view all people in mud who
are have a certain status it would be a very useful tool for finding party
members instead of spamming wanted channel n+1 times. Getting parties together
on this mud is becoming increasingly difficult, especially when I am in a
different timezone to everyone else and most people are going to bed when I
log on.
