To promote diversity of races used, how about re-instating racial max cap in
guild advancement requirements. There used to be one earlier ("must train
skill xxx to 80% or racial max"), but nowadays it seems eg. giant (secondary)
tarmalen is impossible, as guild actually requires one to study some spells to
80%.
So how about it, bring back racemax cutter to advance requirements. I have
nooooo idea if someone has whined about this earlier, and if my sources' data
is expired, but here it is anyway. Please.

I see your point but I fail to see the negative thing about it. What's bad
about a giant tarmalen or an duck fighter? For these combos, the drawbacks are
already harsh enough imho (for unbooned players, that is).
not being able to do giant tarma doesnt sound like a problem. but leech/kobold
conju is nearly impossible without boons and even merfolk conju is annoying
and expensive. unless the point is to make these race/guild combos only for
booned players i think the racemax should be taken into account like tonto
suggested.

you can always overtrain
Replace can with must. I think the (valid) point was that with
leech / giant / whatever you _must_ study to the percentace,
instead of racial max. 88% displacement with 72% spellmax isn't
exactly cheap... Or minor heal (and others) to minimum of 80
with giants 45% spellmax.

But after studying the requirements to only to racial max, you could still
overstudy the higher spells to whatever max you want...
That kind of defeats the purpose of having to study simpler spells to be able
to master the more difficult ones.
But well... logic and batmud or roleplaying and batmud do not fit into the
same sentence... unless there is at least one negation present.
