After reading all those posts about names this and that I realized that I
needed to say these words to you all: Since the eqnames nowadays come from the
heroic deed its reasonable that those heroes get their bonuses on eq. But what
if merchants or somesuch could still use a skill to mark someone as the owner
of an eq. save

When that person is marked as the owner it would give no insta bonuses or
anything. But as we all know from rl when you own a piece of eq you learn to
use it and propably to keep it away from harm. So how about we lessen the
impact of eqdamage for equs you have owned AND used for a extended period of
time. That would not mess up the eqbonuses for highbies and it would make it
so that your beloved pigsticker would not be permanently damaged so easilly.

These are just my thoughts on the matter at hand so feel free to add to them
so we can get a more working eq system - Terminus

rather, if you ever killed mob that has the eq you can use eq from that mob.


as from coders pov, the data can be retroactively gathered from existng eqs,
applying lists to each monster, then at some occurance those lists get
checked. best on wear but i don't know how much cpu power this would use.
perhaps check could be done at more rare occurances or only for eq that does
not already have your name on per-se.

if i kill rolf and use THE axe or if i use the axe from rolf that my friend
killed it's still the very same axe as far as game is concerned (ie cloned eq
:p)
also same goes for rl, if i use "inset a brand" pencil and then i buy another
pencil from same brand etc i'll be using it with same efficiency.
