Since the stated purpose of the eq tune was to help balance the economy by
removing eq from the game over time, I would like to propose a possible
solution.

Perhaps a new guild, golem builders. Members of the guild would have skills
affecting their ability to create sturdier or perhaps larger golems. Spells to
animate their golems would be available. The parts for the golems would be
comprised of eq from the game. Perhaps use the sac value of the eq as a basis
for the improvement that eq provides to the golem.

If a golem is destroyed, have a chance of losing the eq. Perhaps a scavenging
skill to retrieve bits of the eq used.

Just a newb's thoughts on the matter. Carry on.
