the problem with having name-on-eq or you cant wear it is you forget about
merchants, they work just as hard to make the cash to buy the eq they want,
then someone suggests an idea which totally ass-fucks them into nothingness,
they then have worthless eq cause what they just bought for whatever-megs of
cash, is now worth -1m, and doesnt help them one bit, newbies would be hit by
this hard too, cause they can only really go make cash to buy thier eq,
because at the meanwhile they are using rolf axes/other crap they bought from
doing 1,000,000 newbie mines money runs.

The idea is that the equips that have seen heavy tunes in the past few years because of excessive raping be made useable again to those who have their names on them. This would fix the raping problem without ruining the eq.
If the idea was fully realised, it would be an _upgrade_ for newbies. They would actually be able to do some eq themselves that would not be totally worthless. I mean, currently they might be able to do russian autumn cloak, rolf axe, sceptre of power, but what is the point? Those equip don\'t even help the lowest newbie. That eq could be made usable again with your name.
If it is somehow a bad thing that newbies be allowed to do useful eq INSTEAD of doing 1,000,000 newbie mines money runs, I just dont see how.
