Following on the tarma quest thing in the tarma guild. Perhaps a set of
gauntlet quests to test the might of your healing skills? It would be like
surviving round after round of enemy attacks, from easy to hard, where you
would have to heal 3 weapon wielding pure-pwnage npcs against rounds of enemy
melee npcs, perhaps at first 10s of aggressive pigeons, perhaps later 2-3 50k
exp aggro barbs. Perhaps you can even choose what type of NPC tanks you want.
Killing these enemies would each give you exp, and surviving a round would
give you money. Perhaps certain rounds would have enemies with special
skills/spells. Some would get some psispells or lure that can stun your
allies, so you have to unstun your tanks. Some rounds would have cursers so
you need to study natural renewal. One round might even have a flipper against
perhaps a good_relig NPC ally that you need to tempt back. Between each round
you're given a little time to tick and reprot your tanks. Maybe people are
allowed to bring eq, or maybe people are given a specific set of eq only for
the duration of the quest depending on their tarma rank and rep. Eg: annointed
+ chosen and highers will get a better wis/spr set whereas new joiners will
get either nothing or just nub eqs. I'm sure it's possible to make this
unabusable as possible.
Silimar to the barbarian arena, perhaps make this once/day, and death to the
tarm means end of quest but not actual death. This'll be a good way to earn
some solo exp and perhaps gold. Perhaps there could also be a rank chart to
see who is the best at tarma-gauntlets, or maybe a cooler name, like
"Tarmalen's Test of Faith" (probably cooler than that. ) I'm sure there are
many ways you can improve upon this idea, just thinking right now, I could
make every 10 rounds a boss where the boss will actually blast something. I
could also make certain rounds easier for nuns as enemies will be undead,
where tdruids will have to work harder to win but later can own at some, i
donno, hardhitting mobs where flex saves the day, or your ally NPC can request
mana from you and you can choose to transfer mana to him so that he can blast
something. Thinking about allies, perhaps you can choose stronger once your
tarma-rep or gauntlet-rank is higher. Also, if the gauntlets becomes a
multiple-round thing, people can choose to start at whatever level they
completed, so they don't have to spend 2 hours getting to their current
highest gauntlet level. But obviously the exp and gold from completing lower
lvls won't be given.
Anyways, long, but I really like the idea of it. I'll definately like to idle
more as tarma because I can exp everyday in this little gauntlet thing. :)
Definately makes tarmalen a much more interesting guild.
