The short answer is: Sorry, I won't do that. You can start hating me now if

The longer answer is below.
This issue reappears every once in a while and seems like there's interest
in this topic by the community, so I decided to answer it. Since I'm not
granting this wish, many of you might think I'm just writing this to
say "screw you, everyone!", but as the post gained 10/10 rating, I'm writing
this post out of respect, because I could have more easily just moved along
and wait for the post to disappear somewhere to the database instead of
bringing it up like this. If you cannot appreciate my decision, I hope you
can appreciate the fact that I'm actually replying at all.

I'm thinking
that the annoyance this skill causes mostly derives from those certain
moments in parties where someone aggravates the monster either with "kill"
or some quicker skill than 3 round kiss of death is.
While I do agree that kiss of death is probably the best skill to gain
charm/wrath mastery in Kharim, I don't personally think that using the
skill in all situations is crucial. All Kharim skills are counted towards
gaining wrath mastery and all Kharim spells are counted towards gaining
charm mastery (although I do agree gaining charm with Kharim spells is
very troublesome) so gaining mastery through other skills and spells is
also a choice. Therefore I don't completely agree that this particular
kiss of death-skill would be intrinsic. I also do not want it to be.
Almost all the time it's not recognized that kiss of death does other
things besides increases reputation and those effects are one part of
the reason why I'm not inclined to reduce any rounds from this skill.
I've been suggested that I remove all the other effects, change the
skill to 1 round, and just let it increase reputation. I could do
that, but I'm not a big believer in skills that don't actually do
anything themselves but instead work as some meta game-piece that
increases your own power.
When looking into the big picture how Kharim works, I think it's fair
to say that the guild is probably in better balance than an average
guild and I'm not actively seeking ways of increasing guild's power.
I'm usually open to different ideas and sometimes change my mind if
someone can convince me that I'm wrong about something. However, I'm also
a strong believer of my own principles and I usually go with what I
believe is the right call and what better suits my personal creative
vision. Therefore I'm not reducing any rounds from the skill as that
is not the direction I wish to pursue. Unfortunately in this case you
may only adapt to the situation by finding a way to use it or stop
using it at all.
