The spell has been heavily modiified.
-- mages are allowed to use the shapechange spell (via potions and similar
items) again.
-- the effects of the spell, most notably the stat bonuses, are now extremely
dependant on the masteries of both transformation and runic spells. At this
time, only druids have both masteries.
-- items that give the spell have a lower effect, lacking the mastery skills
noted above.
-- six new animal forms added to the spell. Those forms are ape, panther,
wolf, monkey, tortoise, and parrot. These are allowed to high-mastery casters
only, which for now means only druids.

Any bugs should be brought to my attention at once.
