Seems a bit harsh not to be able to change stat bonus once you've reinc'ed. I
gotta wait 70 days or something until I can swap the bonus which sucks a
little, and I only just reinc'ed :(

Very much so... I tested many reincs ago one thing that did sailor bonuses
affect on one thing. And still waiting 60+ days to be able to change it to
something I could use instead of this the totally useless stat. The 3 month
interval is just too much. If you are like shar you can reinc 100 times and
usually 1 stat is not the best in all reincs. So you can have TOTAL of 4 stats
/ year, if you plan to even play full year. So only good for those who stay
one reinc forever and don't test anything... just play brainlessly.

I agree it would be nice to be able the stat bonus once per reinc, and would
probably even be fair to do so.

However, I don't think the intention of the Sailor guild is to maximize your
other guilds. Does every ounce of this game really need to be geared toward
maximization? I think the intent of the bonus is, and should be stand alone.

It's funny you are complaining about such a SMALL bonus that requires
countless amounts of time and tons of money. I personally have a spent no
less than 12m on my class4 and no telling how many hours sailing for compasses
& searching out waypoints. So, plz don't bitch about maximization! You can
play the mud anyway you like, but mortals and wizards are rewarded for
time/effort invested in this game. That's how it is.

The sailor item is a weightless, slotless, autoloading item with +0-+10 in a
stat, that you can buy for effectively 250k, and no penalties. Add a bit of
cost because you do need to summon the ship to get bonuses, etc, but...out of
curiousity, how much would an item like that go for on the sales channel? I'll
admit, +10 is pretty hard to get, but...+3 to +5 is reasonable with time.

The original configuration for this was that each alignment got one stat, and
that was it, no real way to change at all. This wasn't intended as a
minmax-for-your-reinc thing, but as a minor bonus for ship owners, among
whatever other bonuses you get.

As for you who spent 12M on your class4 ship, well...I'll say that you
shouldn't complain because you clearly have too much money on your hands...the
bonus is not necessarily related to how much you spent on your ship. I
certainly spent a fair deal less than that on my main ship, but even a 250k
ship can earn you +stat with a bit of patience.

Make no mistake about it, I wasn't complaining. My ship has been a very sound
investment. I was simply pointing out how foolish it is to complain about a
very minor stat bonus that requires vast amounts of time and/or money.
