"preserve value" I dont think this is good reason, other vice every monster
that got rape prot later on should have had its old eq dested. Like Johnny a
fresh example is a pain to kill now was what 5-7min monster before. Anyways
like I said before 3-6month prots aint there to preserve value they are just a
FU in the face o players really. This is a game its not suppose to take
10years to get highbie eqs for one reinc. Other 10years for next one. Or what
ever 3-6months x 9 + random variable since u cant clearly always be there the
day it drops. 2 week rape prots should be clearly fair and enough for most
monsters. And all those global prots should be removed trillo, henry, stifsim
etc!

restricting the equipment based on its power for certain levels/exp/whatnot.
Would this be a better alternatve?

the so called better eq, maybe not stuff like purple gloves etc. But thats
just my opinion.
