As some of you may have noticed, I've whined about
the compass colour tune since it was made.
And while I must admid that I have propably whined a bit
more than the tune deserved, let's still get back to the subject :)

Fact is that the tune was (and still is) boon for those
playing pirates. When the tune kicked in there was some
vague wizardly promises that some other stuff is coming soon
and hence we should not whine so much.

Surprisingly nothing has happened since then, and the tune is
still favouring pirates. Maybe there is some coding done behind
the curtains, but as long as we are not informed about such things
it looks that nothing is nor will be done at all.

The reason I dislike this situation is that compasses are the only
way of getting the training points. And I really want to get my top
sailor to level 20 and that takes shitloads of training points.
Pirates get rep AND the training points so why oh why tune
compasses so that they are the only one who can do them all?

By the way, last 3 compasses I've found have been other than red
so that kinda inspired to write this post. I was told by
Tarken a long ago that only 1/20 of compasses are something else
than red, but it certainly doesn't feel to be the case.

And here's the constructive part:
If you lack the ideas about new stuff I got plenty.
Of course many of then are propably hard to implement, too
stupid or would be totally unbalanced, but I'll thrown in a few
just in case :)

-Make navy and mnavy some other way than fighting to get points
from the non-red compasses. Like needing to get to the
ship and negociate a trade/protection deal with the ship
That would take some time (10-15mins?) and that would yield the
precious silver coin and maybe small amount of gold.
You could even finally get some use for negotiators since this
would be a perfect place for utilizing their negotiating
ability by shortening the time or increasing gold gain.

-Or you could pick up a gargo from blue/green compass ship and
deliver it to harbour they request to get the coin. Just make sure
you need to sail all the way.

(to be continued...)
