Whew it is almost done and complete. April 14th, 2011 at around 6pm CST I
went on Newbie Channel and announced the winners of my contest. In chooseing
the winners it became very apparent by reading all the entries that this year
a very different breed of newbie has been let into the Mud. It was so hard to
choose a winner i decided to give everyone that entered the giveaway a Room
and chest.
This year I think the Mud will come alive again, with the help of the new
blood in the mix bringing new life into this great game. It was great to see
the midbie and newbie players step up and actually do most of the donating of
eqs, ships, gold, chest and so on. What really was a surprise was that only a
handful of higbie players did anything. The players that have the most in this
game did little or nothing. Its sad to see that those elite players are so
invinceable that a playerbased game, and the players trying to move up in this
game will have little or no help from that group of highbie players. Pretty
sad if you ask me..
Despite of all of that the lesser playerbase did a hell of a job helping
me make this giveaway a smash with the newbies that got helped. Here is the

Without the donations I recieved for the Newbie Giveaway I could not have
given all not only a Room and Chest, I was able to outfit almost all of them
with decent newbie/midbie weapons and armours they they immediately reported
back was tremendously helping their characters. Not only eqs and weapons were
donated, 4 ships were diced into the mix, and a total of 5.5Meg gold was
distribruted amongst the winners. Here is a list of Great players in this game
that saw the need to help out, and did with flying colors to make this event a
smash hit.

In closeing again I thank all that helped with this, and in the future if
I am able I will continue to do this Giveaway to helpout the newbies for Bat's
Anniversary, if I am not here to do it I am sure Dreamr will pickup the torch
and run with it in my absence.
This is one hell of a game and the people that write it, maintain it,
make sure new ideas are aways being worked on deserve a HUGE thanks from all
of us. They keep this game operating with fresh ideas with a never ending love
for this game. So again thanks all you Wizard's that keep this little spot on
the internet called BatMUD the Greatest Text Based game in the world!
Thanks everyone for the support you individually gave in helping this
event a success. I couldn't have done it without all of your help. God willing
I will be here for a few more years to help support this event and this Great
Game.

I personally feel slightly offended that not donating to your own personal
lotto has lumped those that didn't donate into some bucket of players that are
somehow hoarding their riches and not helping others. Just because I didn't
contribute to your giveaway, in no way means that I'm not (or others for that
matter) helping out newbies.

Cheers for a great event - I love it. Not so much cheers for the other part.
