Given the recent discussion on chest minimum pricing, I would like to propose
a modest change in the current pricing structure. I will first present the
proposal then follow with some explanation as to how I came up with these
numbers.
I haven't provided max prices since I feeel you should be able to charge as
much as the market can bear. The prices listed above are based on the
cheapest material chests. That would be wood (or wood equivalent) for the
smaller chests and reinforced woood/bammboo for the larger chests. Clearly,
higher quality materials should command higher prices (one would think a
diamond 12 slotter shoudl command much more than 580k). The prices are
without locks/traps, adjust accordingly if you are selling with these
additional components.
Now, as for how I came up with these prices. I accounted for the cost of a
skeleton (small for 1-3 slotters, med for 4-6 slotters, and large for the
rest), assigned a flat material cost per slot (since on average you need more
material for a larger chest) and applied a "rarity" adjustment to account for
the difficulty in creating larger chests.
Again, this post is just a suggestion to promote discussion, as many merchants
seem to be unsatisfied with the pricing structure on smaller chests.
Comments/discussion will be greatly appreciated.
