Lets face it, rebirthing is not being used as it was intended. People rebirth
now because they either have nowhere else to put their exp or they believe
they will get that little bit more advantage from it like the extra levels or
the fancy () bracers and additional races. The mud does have an ever
increasing number of high level 100 players that are putting shitloads of exp
into abilities, which is nice but often pointless.
Im going to go out on a limb and suggest that rebirthing be considered as a
viable option for advancement rather than retirement, because seriously, who
uses it to retire. I think its time to accept the fact that that is what
people want it to be used for, and this isn't necessarily a bad thing. It
provides an advancement path for the exp rich people.
I propose that rebirth gives more bonuses than it currently does, especially
for 2nd and 3rd, and actually encourage people to rebirth rather than call it
a retirement path. I think the cost of levels/skills etc after first rebirth
should not be the same as non rebirthers, it should be higher like 50% higher
for first rebith, 100% higher for 2nd and maybe 150%/200% for third. Of course
this would require a force reinc on all rebirthers and would probably be a bit
difficult to implement now since people have already rebirthed X times and
existing rebirthers would not appreciate the higher costs. But im just trying
to suggest that rebirth be made as an advancement path rather than retirement
path. Im sure there will be plenty of debate amoung this but it is just a
thought.
Some possible bonuses are more races, ability to wear certain eq's, hmm there
could be plenty of other ideas for these.
The way i see it is that there are shitloads of players who have played for
over 10 years and dont want to stop for another 10 years, in another 10 years
i see the mud swarming with level 100 mortals with 500m+ totals, there needs
to be some plans for the future rather than just adding more areas.

So you are after all suggesting that now when rebirth is only for the players
that are realy rich in exp, it would be only available to the filthy,insane,
rich of exp?
Wait lets take the idea even future.
"Newbies should be able to play only kobold barbarians and only after getin
100M total they are allowed to take ranger. After hiting tsiljon or so exp
they are able to reinc (with tax of tens of prosents, not some fev prosent) to
gnoll". Yeah, that would realy emphasize the freedom of gamestyle.
Do you think it would be more inviting to be able to play whatever kind of
character you like without first having to do tens of miljons of exp until you
are able to play it? Making some races rebith-only races was IMO a bad move.
Now those that like to play now and then, can never have access to them. The
fact that those ppl that "live" in MUD are already around level 100 and that
is already a status and a achivement.
If races would be like they were (invite only exc.) and If rebirth would turn
your total exp in to taskpoints (1 per 100k or by some twisted calculation)
and drop you to lvl zero but it would have the same time limits it now has...
That would solve the problem that the rich ppl have loads of taskpoints and
the fact that rebirth is now just a thing to take to get better character in
future. With friends around lvl 100 and EQ worth tens of miljons that aint far
in future.
To gain some sense in these reinc (remember what the word means?) counts, i
would introduce lvl 101.
Level 101 would be available after one week (or some other nice time prediot)
without having to collect exp for it (thus lvl 100->101 zero exp/money) and
when taking the lvl 101 you are instantly reinced with slow and unsafe reinc
options BUT without exp tax cost thus this reinc would truly be a chalenge for
old players wihtout them grinding their teeth to dust with the reinc exp tax
cost of miljons.

Yes yes im newbie and yes yes im bitter not being able to play vampire
anymore, but you have to admit that hundreds of TP's are at the moment (RL)
rich ppl's candys and the other races (aka rebirths) are for only for exp
(filthy) rich players. Both things unfair for the ones not being rich in
neither way. No i dont suggest that everyone should get hundrerds TP's sudenly
or all races should be available to all but everyone should have chance to
achive both.
(If you think geting 1k of TP's trough bug reports/taskamster or 675M is
possbile by normal playing in THIS life, i suggest you think again those that
have other things to do in their life than just mud. no offence.)
