Remove it, or tune it so that the ones who benefit about it, are really those
newbies who play rarely, nowadays highbies get too much and too easily exp
anyway, tho that is just one of the disadavantages that powerhour has.
Some other drawbacks besides exp-inflation worth mentioning is for example
that its very hard to get help with quests, explore etc etc when people arent
willing to lose their powerhour.
Powerhour was put into the game when there was talking about losing players to
other games, it isnt the solution.
Atm powerhour has way more disadvantages than advantages.
thank you.

Don't speak for everyone. I make exp rarely and powerhour hugely improves my
motivation and is advantageous for me.
I also see no problem helping people killing 1 mob or in quests or stuff if I
have time - even if I haven't used my powerhour.
So in conclusion, the problem is not in powerhour, it is in players - maybe
removing those players that value powerhour too much would be the solution
instead of removing the powerhour.

So that people don't get the wrong idea, that post was not really against
powerhours as an idea, just against how it is currently implemented. The
original idea of powerhour was perhaps that the average joe would benefit from
it, but actually it is the 247 playing highbies who get the most out of it.
While your average lowbie might be ecstatic about getting an extra 200k/week,
he/she may not realize that at the same time the top of the mud is increasing
the exp gap to the average player at a rate never seen before. Since the game
has always been tuned according to the top of the mud, expcost-wise, it takes
even longer for the average player to advance in the long run. Whether this is
a good thing or a bad thing or you couldn't care less, it's up to you to
decide, but this is just stating the facts. I personally have no strong
opinion about the fact that it may or may not be harder to get parties for
quests or whatnot, I'm also just wondering whether what happened was what was
intended.

An idea struck me after reading Cola's post. Perhaps phour should be limited
by the total experience of a character. For example(I don't know what a good
boundary is), phour is available ONLY available to a character who is a
non-rebirther AND under 100m.
