First of all I do think weaponspeed has a lot of potential to spice things up
but it still needs tuning. Duke's method of tuning seems to be to think of
what he wants to and then to implement a version of it. Things then have a
tendency to change towards better based on feedback if needed. This method is
not that common, it does bring out a lot of whines and can be misinterpreted
as not knowing what he's doing but the end results seem to work out once it's
given time. Anyway I thought I'd give my 2 cents worth on the parrytune.

The problem with it from my perspective is that although it did add something
offtanking as a matter of balancing between offence and defence, however it
took all choices away from defs. A def used to be able to switch between 2
weapons and weapon+shield and although the meleedamage wasn't much it did add
to the funfactor and gave option to finish nd mobs etc. Defs have parry at 51
since it is a requirement for staying alive, parry at 0 would mean taking 50%
more damage and so is not an option. Therefore a def hits for 50% less now and
none of those increased weaponspeeds to stunned mobs help because defs almost
never hit stunned mobs. So basically instead of adding more interest to melee
as Duke said this actually reduced defs even more towards just a meatwall.

What I would have liked to see would have been that wielding 2 weapons would
have somewhat lower parrychance than with a shield but parry wouldn't take as
much weaponspeed, maybe something like -15% weaponspeed and -15% chance to
parry. With the general uptune to parrychance and better chance to hit it
would be somewhat on par for defs with how it used to be while making offtanks
think what to set their parry to.

Then if you'd wield a weapon+shield you'd have full chance to parry and the
weaponspeed penalty would depend on the size of your shield. Maybe -15% for
target shield and that -50% for full shields if parry is set to 51. That
should give defs some hard choices to make when exping and might give some use
for those smaller shields too, currently just about everyone uses full shields
since they are just better in everything.
