I like the new parry tune, I think it makes it more to the idea of parry, you
give up hits in order to gain defence, and thats how it is now. But the only
reason that people would actually do this is because when skilled enough in
it, you gain the ability to do a LOT of damage in ripostes. It's not as fast
as just attacking, but you don't take as much damage while you are doing it.
That said riposte as a skill is sorely lacking compared to this new parry
tune, the sabre fence skill works fine, if you use say lunge parry riposte,
you get a nice chunk of damage on the riposte, as it should be, but in normal
combat, riposte still doesn't do nearly enough damage. So what about a new
skill, Riposte Critical, give it to the more def aligned guilds, maybe 100% to
crimsons and only a smaller percent to other guilds (templars!!). And to make
riposte itself more equivalent to this new parry tune, maybe lower the amount
of times it goes off (on a good day my 50% riposte goes off about 80% of the
times i parry) and increase the damage to enough what i would normally do in
combat or just below it.
